These are the changes in traffic regulations

The 39th Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix 2024 will be held between 18-21 July 2024 at the Hungaroring in Mogyoród, Hungary. This year the event will be secured by the Pest County Police Headquarters again, with a similar number of police officers as in previous years.

The sport event attracts a large number of visitors from Hungary and abroad, which puts a heavy strain on the traffic in the town and the surrounding area. We ask the residents of Mogyoród to leave their homes by car only if absolutely necessary, and to be more patient than usual!

Stopping restrictions will be in force from the morning of 18 July 2024 until the morning of 22 July 2024 in the area of the race and on the roads leading to it.

Vehicles parked illegally will be removed by the police and returned to their owners only after they have paid the fine and the transport costs.

During the event, on 18-19-20-21 July 2024, you can expect the following major changes to traffic patterns:

o    In Szilasliget, traffic will be two-way on the József Attila road until the main road number 3, but in the afternoon hours it may be possible that vehicles can only drive outwards from the race track.

o    In Mogyoród, Gödöllői út and Dózsa György út will also be two-way – as traffic situation makes it possible -  but from Mázsa tér towards Dózsa György út, cars can move only towards the race track in the morning and out of the race track in the afternoon.

o   The road between the main entrance of the Hungaroring and the Kerek Lake will be one-way in the morning - only towards the main entrance - and one-way in the afternoon, also towards the Kerek Lake.

o    From the exit at 19200 m of the M3 motorway to the Kerek lake, during the arrival period, it is only possible to drive in one direction, towards the ring.

o    Between the Aquarena and the Szilasligeti bus turnaround, traffic will be two-way all the time.

o   Between the main entrance of the Hungaroring and the Szilasligeti bus turnaround, from the main entrance (towards gates 7 and 6), cars can drive in one direction, and the traffic regime will be reversed at the end of the races.

o   After the competition, you can drive from the Super Gold inner car park in the direction of Csömör, but depending on the traffic, the direction of departure may change via gate 6, via Kerepes-Szilasliget towards main road 3.

o    Traffic will be one-way from the Mogyoród HÉV crossing to Gate 2 on the way to the race track in the morning and out in the afternoon.

o    After the race evacuation from the Gratis 1 and Gratis 2 car parks between gates 8 and 7 will be via Csömör and from the Gratis 3 car park via Mogyoród.

After the race, there are two ways to depart from the Kerek lake: to the M3 motorway or to Mogyoród.  At the water tower, access to Mogyoród is provided via the Pince Sor-Somlói road.

By public transport you can take the H8 HÉV to get to the race track. Free buses will take you from the HÉV Kerepesi stop to Hungaroring Gate 3, where all spectator areas are accessible. In the afternoon, free buses will take spectators to the MÁV and HÉV stops in Gödöllő.

During the race weekend, after the race, the police will decide on the one-way traffic depending on the traffic. The Pest County Police Headquarters will assist with information signs on all affected road sections. Pay attention to the police signals!

Members of the public attending the event should be aware that entry will take some time, so please leave early!

You can find information about the entry rules on the Hungaroring Sport Zrt. website.

We recommend that you park your car in the designated, guarded parking areas, lock them to prevent criminal offences, and do not leave any animals, valuable objects or documents in the passenger compartment!

Please note that the police may introduce additional restrictions and change traffic patterns depending on traffic conditions. For this reason, we ask visitors not to drive out of habit, to approach the event site with increased caution and to always follow the instructions of the police.

From 18 to 22 July 2024, there will be a temporary police station in the vicinity of the race track, the contact details of which will be published on  www.police.hu.
